Helicopter trip

Yesterday, we took the mother in law out to Manston airport where we had booked her on a 30 minute helicopter flight for her 80th birthday treat. The flight to follow the coast from Manston down to Dover and back, flying over the castles of Deal, Walmer and Dover.

When we arrived, about 30 seconds before the pilot, we were told by the assistant that the flights for the day had been cancelled - this was due to the forecast being for rain and strong winds, neither of which we had.

The pilot said he'd take all of us (my mother in law, my wife and I), as the weather was ok. Ten minutes later we were taking off....

The flight was great and we got to see sites that one wouldn't normally see. Even better was the fact that for the price of flying the mother in law, we all got to fly!!

I have put a few photos in 'Landscapes'....
